Action Fist Watercolour: Domingus

Today I did a watercolour of a character from my game:
Action Fist
Though the photo is gigantic, the actual picture spans about 4x3 inches.

Here is the page in its entirety.

Helmebelt!

Helmebelt!
Doesn't need a weapon-
Helmebelt!
Doesn't need sleeves-
Helmebelt!
Doesn't need his vision-
Helmebelt!
He's got what he neeeeds!
*Tuba Solo*

I didn't know what to draw so I was drawing soldiers but all their armor looked ridiculous. They even wore embarrassed expressions that showed their distaste for what I had drawn for them.
I told Jeff that I was drawing soldiers and he said that "The secret to soldiers is a cool helmet and belt"

So I decided to make a soldier that was mostly just that.

HELMEBELT!

Montol

Yeah yeah, so I gave up for a bit. Big deal. Don't tell me you wouldn't do the same. BUT HEY! I'm back. So there.

This is a robot monk?
Sure.

I named it Montol. Sounds like a breath freshener or something.

Rare Bird Stealer (makeup)

The challenge yesterday was mine, and it was to make a character who collects rare birds.

I'll have to admit, I really don't try hard on the backgrounds when I know all I really wanted to do was the character. Making thumbnails would probably have helped this picture out.

Toll Bridge? Or friend bridge!?

Maybe it's both.

The challenge today was from Monsieur Jeff Linier:
"Toll Collector"

My oh my. Few words? Lets see what I have done.
This started as a thumbnail that I just blew up and drew on top of. Every time I added small details it seemed to throw off the image. By the time I was done, I wasn't sure if any of the side dingies were distracting. Whatever, I dig the characters. Mainly the glowy blue one (go figure)

My question: Are they friends?

Dirt Slugs Pull Their Weight (makeup)

This is a makeup for yesterday.

EXCUSE: Needed sleep because I've been staying up till four for a few nights.

Yesterday was my day to do a challenge, and it was to make a vehicle that digs through ground, but is animal powered in some way.

My dad came over and asked if they were doughnuts...

I think that is an auto-fail, but if you blur your eyes, they do look like doughnuts.

Little people in big toy land

Idea suggested by Mr. Jeffery Linsdon

The challenge was to do a perspective drawing of characters in a room of giant toys.

Does the bunny on the tinker toy up close look like it's going to leap at the silhouettes or does it look static?

Where do you think they are going?

Creeprincess

Yup. A creepy princess. Decided to keep the outlines on them. It's just so much more work to get nice defined clean edges when doing a more painterly style.

Question:
What on earth is she doing?

Dasher

This picture looks more finished than the others. I was reluctant to try this painterly style, but these pictures often look better because messiness is forgiven. Plus color speaks stronger than line anyway.

Any idea what this thing would be called? -Other than dasher. Shut up. I needed to name the file and I acted quickly.

03-27-10

I vowed to make a new picture every day. (or seven a week)

Full View

I've been seeing tall towers surrounded by greenery in my head lately. This one doesn't really live up the the ones in my head, but I could always try again. I think the ones up there have more greenery.

Those chaps just seem to be having fun.

03-28-10

This one looks like a linoleum block cut. I tried making the colors more vibrant in photoshop but- It felt cheap.

I think when I zone out I default to trees for some reason.

03-29-10

Here I just wanted to draw some characters.

03-30-10

I wanted to try and draw something that wouldn't trigger a memory of a character in someone's head. Besides the fact that it is impossible to make something completely original, I still like this fish thing I drew last.

Remember kids, when you can't think of a face, draw a mask!

04-2-10 (makeup)

boats are always cool

Okay, now I really don't freakin' know.
